Jared may be a newcomer to TV, but he's no stranger to news in Wichita. Jared came to KAKE in May 2007 from KFDI radio in Wichita. There, he reported on stories, provided traffic reports, anchored newscasts and chased severe weather for more than 13 years.
During his tenure at KFDI, Jared won numerous awards from the Kansas Association of Broadcasters and the Associated Press. He was given the AP Story of the Year award twice and took part in submissions that won four national Edward R. Murrow awards for radio.
Although his main job at KAKE is behind the assignment desk, you can catch Jared just about every Tuesday on KAKE News at 10:00, where he features cold cases for Crimestoppers. In addition, Jared is a premier storm-chaser, often capturing pictures with KAKE First Cam whenever there is severe weather in KAKEland.
Jared is a native to Kansas. He was born and raised in Haysville and now lives in Wichita. He is also an avid bowler, averaging 220 or better for the last several years. When he's not bowling, Jared enjoys spending time at home watching movies with his Yorkshire Terrier named Barney.
