Ben joined KAKE-TV as Assignment Manager in May 2004. Along with overseeing the Assignment Desk, Ben also coordinates storm chase crews during severe weather and oversees all internships in the news department.
Ben is a native of Oklahoma City and attended the University of Central Oklahoma. He began his career in news at age 19 at KFOR-TV, the NBC affiliate in Oklahoma City, where he worked for more than four years as a Writer and Assignment Editor. He also performed several other newsroom tasks including storm chasing, and was recognized by the Oklahoma Association of Broadcasters for coverage of a tornado in Oklahoma City in 2003.
In his free time, Ben enjoys spending time with family and friends, watching football and catching a good movie. Ben and his wife Karie have two sons and are happy to call Kansas home.
