A long-time Kansan, Grant has been in the television broadcasting business for more than 25 years. After graduating from the University of Kansas with a degree in journalism, he began his career in Hays, but soon made his way to Wichita. Along the way, he’s been an award-winning reporter, anchor, producer and manager. In May 2006, Grant became News Director for KAKE-TV and its sister stations in Garden City (KUPK) & Colby (KLBY).
Grant joined KAKE-TV in 1995 and was part of the KAKE News team that won the National Edward R. Murrow Award for overall excellence in 1999. In addition, he and his KAKE colleagues received regional Emmys for best evening newscast in 2006, best daytime newscasts in 2007 and 2008, and best daytime and evening newscasts in 2010.
Grant is active in the community. He is a member of the Kansas Attorney General's Amber Alert task force. He also serves as a volunteer for the YMCA and serves as a Cub Scout leader. When he's not in the newsroom, you may find Dave near a swimming pool. He is also a certified USA swimming official.
