A Kansas legislative panel continues to work on a new multiyear plan for transportation improvements.
But its chairman, Sen. Dwayne Umbarger, said Monday that key issues remain unresolved.
The new plan would be a follow-up to the 10-year, $13 billion transportation program that ended this summer.
Umbarger, a Thayer Republican, says the subcommittee of the Special Committee on Transportation is looking at raising between $2.7 billion and $5.7 billion in new revenues over 10 years.
He said the general outlines of the program are still taking shape.
Umbarger says he hopes a plan will be ready in early December. It would be considered by the full committee and, if endorsed, sent to the Legislature to consider after it reconvenes in January.
