Smoky Valley's Quinn Dippel won his third 4A State Championship Saturday while Wichita Collegiate and Conway Springs earned team titles.

The 3-2-1A doubles title went to Hutchinson Trinity's duo of Jason Banning and Michael Lindt, who defeated Sean McCoy and Brandon King of Wichita Independent.

For Dippel, it was a familiar feeling to reel in the championship, as he did so in a 6-1, 6-1 victory over Topeka Hayden sophomore Blake Hunter.

"It wasn't necessarily the best he's played or I've played. I know he was getting frustrated. I was getting frustrated. But it felt good to win that match and get State again," said Dippel, who added that he had felt more pressure throughout his high school career to continue winning at the State Tournament.

"Now that it's over, I'm relieved. I'm pretty happy, too," he said.
