The life of a goalkeeper is far from glamous. But Carroll high senior, Keighton Allen takes pride in what she does with this role. And she does it well. “My goal for every game is defiantly to come in with the mindset that this game is going to be a shutout”, says Allen. Thru the first eight games of this season. Allen has allowed only 1-goal, and as a 4-year starter, her ability to shut down opponents, has made way for more aggressiveness on offense, with 39-scores in 2012. “Anytime any sport when you have somebody who can clean up messes in the back it allows you to do what ever you need to do up top” says, coach Greg Rauch. And that confidence, comes from Keighton's experience and leadership. “Just use a lot of that experience to help with this younger defense to tell them how our system works really” says Allen. “With Keighton's expericence, she's traveled all over the united states playing games so i think the pressure of high school soccer maybe for her may be a little bit more as she has something else to balance that against”, says coach Rauch. And after falling short in the state semifinals in 2011. All that's left in this year, is redemption.
