A Western Kansas high school running back has earned a national award for his record breaking performance.
Hodgeman County Senior Evan Kreger was honored as the national athlete of the month for his play in September. The award was given by the National High School Coaches Association and GTM Sportswear.
In the opening game of the season, Kreger rushed for 306 yards and scored a state record ten touchdowns. He finished the season with more than 3,000 yards and 53 touchdowns. The Hodgeman County Longhorns finished the season with a 9-2 record.
