In its first two seasons of existence, the Maize South Mavericks have made more strides, than some teams who have been around much longer.

After advancing to the postseason in its first two years, the Mavs are looking for more in 2012.

Speed is the name of the game for Maize South, working harder in the offseason to be bigger, stronger and more faster to keep up with the competition.

And they'll have to do that this season, moving up to AVCTL Division II.

The Mavericks open the season August 31st at Ark City.
