ANDOVER, Kan.-- Thursday marked the first padded practice for high school football in Kansas and Andover High took full advantage participating in contact drills at Andover District Stadium. The Trojans finished 2013 with a record of 9-1 after remaining unbeaten until falling in the first round of the playoffs.
This year, head coach Mike Lee is depending on the experience of his starters to carry the team to the success it had last year and beyond.
Overall, Andover High has a very positive outlook but they do have at least one area of concern. Lee said, "Well the thing we're concerned about is depth. That's not something we've noticed in the last week. It's something we've known about since January. Our numbers are pretty good with our ones, our experienced guys. But we've got young guys that have to develop and have to develop fast to get us some depth."
Andover High opens up the 2014 season at home on September 5th against Goddard-Eisenhower.
