On a breakaway layup in the 2nd quarter, Scott City player, Austin Habier failed to slow his momentum at the last moment during Frankamp's jump, slightly clipping him mid-air. Frankamp then fell face first off the court, suffering a cut to his left temple that drew an ample amount of blood.

Frankamp would stay down, conscious for about nine minutes, before being helped off the floor and back to the locker room. He would be later taken to a local hospital for further observations. Reports are that Frankamp suffered a concussion, after being stitched up. He will not be available for North's championship game match-up against Shawnee Mission South on Saturday afternoon.
