The Rose Hill swim team had its best finish ever at State this past weekend. The team placed fourth overall and was led by two underclassman who both won gold.
Sophomore Gavin Smith took first in the 100-yard butterfly and second in the 50-yard freestyle. Freshman Noah Baden took first in the 100-yard breaststroke and second in the 500-yard freestyle.
"It was amazing to know that of all the people in the state of Kansas I had the best time," Baden said.
"It was pure joy. It was great," said Smith.
The team's goal for next year is to finish in the top three at State.
