When Chase High's Jake Kizzar finally stopped running against Burrton last week, he averaged 20 yards every time he touched the ball. He finished with 613 yards rushing and, by the way, scored eleven touchdowns. "My offensive linemen they made holes you could drive a truck through, they played tremendous the whole game", Kizzar said.
Jake's 613 yards set a new 8 man state record. It's just six yards shy of the national mark. It was a joke between Jake and his coach the day before, but when they announced Jake had 433 yards in the third quarter nobody was joking. "Prior to that we were trying to when a ballgame, but when they announced that I thought let's go for the record", said Chase High School Coach Otis Hendryx.
Chase High won the game 93-60. They didn't make the playoffs, but Jake's amazing performance will make it a season to remember.
