State wrestling champions will be crowned today.

In Class 6A, Garden City leads the team race, followed by Junction City and Manhattan.

Ark CIty leads class 5A, followed by St. James Academy.

Andale leads class 4A after two rounds.

Norton is the top team in classes 3-1A.

State semifinal and final matches will be held today.

The winter storm has delayed the start of state wrestling tournaments.

Opening round matches will now begin at 4:00 p.m. Friday at the three state sites.

Classes 6 and 5A will compete at Hartman Arena in Park City. The Class 4A tournament will be in Salina, with classes 3-1A in Hays.

Friday, February 22
Gates open at 2:00 pm
2:00-3:30 pm: Weigh-ins
1 pound growth allowance
3:45 pm: Parade of Champions
4:00 pm: 1st Round Matches
2nd Round Matches, immediately following 1st round matches:

Championship Quarterfinals – 2 mats/class

1st Round Consolation matches – 2 mats/class

Weigh-ins for Saturday will take place at the conclusion of the 2nd round
1 additional pound growth allowance

Saturday, February 23

Gates open at 7:00 am
9:00 am: Championship Semifinals – 2 mats/class
Consolation Quarterfinals – 2 mats/class
12:30 pm: Consolation Semifinals – 4 mats/class
2:30 pm: Finals (wrestled on 3 mats, simultaneously)
Championship: 1 mat/class

3rd Place: 1 mat/class

5th Place: 1 mat/class
