Ziegler helped the Wingnuts go 5-1 last week and collected at least one hit in all six games. The Tucson, AZ native hit .456 (10 for 22) with 10 runs scored, three home runs, and 14 RBI. On June 24th versus Laredo, Ziegler tied a franchise single-game record with seven RBI in a 20-6 win over the Lemurs.
The 27-year-old slugger ranks prominently in various offensive categories. Ziegler is tied for eighth in the American Association in batting average (.333), tied for second in runs scored (40), tied for sixth in doubles (15), first in home runs (16), first in RBI (51), fifth in walks (27), second in on-base percentage (.437), and first in slugging percentage (.730).
In game one of a double header on June 14th versus the St. Paul Saints, Ziegler became the Wingnuts' all-time leader in home runs with his 27th longball over the last two seasons.
Ziegler is the third Wingnuts' player to win Batter of the Week this year. Outfielders Jared McDonald and David Amberson have also captured the award.
