Wichita Drops Game Three To Brahmas 3-2

April 18, 2012

For the eighth time this post-season and third time in this series, Texas scored first when Adam Hogg jumped on a turnover and made it 1-0 at 6:34 of the second. The Brahmas took a 2-0 lead at 11:30 as Andrew Lackner caught a pass on the backdoor and beat Adam Russo. At 17:20, Mike Hellyer added to the lead with a backhand from the left face-off circle to make it 3-0.

The Thunder tried to climb back into the game as Kevin Young (3) got the Thunder on the board at 2:32 of the third period to cut the lead to 3-1. RG Flath (8) then made it 3-2 as he came into the Brahmas end and put a wrist shot past Brahmas starter Brad Fogal at 15:33. Wichita had plenty of chances down the stretch and pulled its goaltender with just over a minute to go, but was unable to find the back of the net and the Brahmas hung on for a 3-2 win.

Thomas Beauregard added two assists and extended his point-scoring streak in the playoffs to six games.

Wichita is 11-9 in Game Three of a series all-time. Wichita went 0-for-4 with the power play and Texas was 0-for-1.
