WSU's Smith Selected In MLB Draft

Wichita State baseball student-athlete Josh Smith was drafted in the 25th round of the 2012 MLB First-Year Player Draft by the Pittsburgh Pirates. He was the 766th pick overall.

Smith, a senior left-handed pitcher from Pleasant Hill, Mo., went 6-4 with a 3.10 ERA and 77 strikeouts in 95.2 innings pitched, while earning honorable mention all-Valley honors.

The Shockers also had one recruit taken in the draft. Blake Logan was taken in the 13th round by the Miami Marlins.
