WSU's Wessel to Undergo Surgery

Wichita State sophomore guard Evan Wessel will have surgery on his broken right pinky finger, Head Men’s Basketball Coach Gregg Marshall announced today.

“Evan will have surgery to repair his broken finger,” Marshall said. “He tried to battle through the pain, but in the long run he decided it was best to have surgery and apply for a medical hardship.”

Wessel started the first eight games, averaging 5.5 points and 1.8 rebounds before resting the finger.

A date has not been set for the surgery.
