WICHITA, Kan Wichita State University head women's basketball coach Jody Adams has agreed to a contract extension through 2019 that includes an annuity, a five-year rolling term appointment, salary increases for her and her staff, and rewards for more success and longevity, Director of Athletics Eric Sexton announced today.
In her sixth season at the helm of the program, Adams coached the 2013-14 Shockers to their second-straight Missouri Valley Conference regular-season and post-season titles, while collecting a school-record 26 wins and earning a berth into the NCAA Tournament for the second-consecutive season.
The Shockers also earned the program’s first-ever national ranking, entering the USA Today Top 25 Coaches Poll on Feb. 11, 2014 at No. 24. WSU had the best start to the conference season in program history (12-0) and did not lose a game in December (6-0) or January (8-0).
