WICHITA, Kan-- Braeburn Golf Course, on the campus of Wichita State University, will close Nov. 3 to make room for construction of the new Innovation Campus.

Braeburn was purchased by the university in 1967 to provide room for campus expansion.

Even though the golf course is closing for public play, part of the course will remain as a practice facility for Wichita State's golf teams.

"We are pleased the Hartman Golf Practice facility will continue to be available for our men's and women's golf programs," said Eric Sexton, director of athletics at WSU. "In addition, a few of the current holes will provide for enhanced practice opportunities that are unique to intercollegiate golf programs nationally. This continued commitment to providing high quality facilities as a part of the vision of the Innovation Campus is critical to our continuing to compete for golf championships."
