With the win, WSU tied the school records for overall wins (20) and conference victories (14) while winning in Terre Haute for the first time since 2003 (a span covering nine games).

One game remains on the regular season conference schedule for WSU, a 2:05 tipoff on Saturday at Missouri St. The Shockers could win at least a share of the conference championship for the first time in school history with a victory.

Dapprich led the Shockers with 22 points on 8-of-13 shooting. She connected on four three-pointers, also a career-best. Alex Harden added 16 points, six rebounds, six assists, two blocked shots, and two steals. Anna Munn led Indiana State with 17 points.

The Shockers expanded a two-point halftime lead to a 10-point margin, 40-30, with 16:09 to play before Indiana State responded. On the Sycamores’ Senior Day, they rattled off a 9-0 run to pull within 42-41 at the 11:24 mark.

WSU came back with a 7-0 run, during which Indiana State missed four shots over a 3:19 stretch, to take a 49-41 lead. The Sycamores rallied again to cut it to a single possession game but Harden nailed a pull-up jumper from the free throw line to put WSU on top 53-49 with 2:49 left.

Dapprich put WSU ahead 16-13 on a three-pointer from the top of the key just past the midpoint of the first half. She had nine first half points to lead the team. Indiana State took a one-point lead on a Munn three-point basket but Darice Fountaine answered with back-to-back treys of her own to put WSU on top, 26-21. After a 5-0 Sycamore spurt, WSU took a 28-26 lead into halftime.

The Shockers improved to 20-9 overall and 14-3 in the MVC. Three teams, including last year’s, reached 20 overall wins while only the 1999-2000 squad made it 14 conference victories. That team tied for second place, WSU’s best-ever finish in the MVC.
