Tipoff is scheduled for 3:05 p.m. on Saturday, March 23. Ticket information is listed below.

The Shockers carried the best record in program history at 24-9 and are coming off the first regular season and first tournament championships the school has ever produced.

The game may carry extra meaning for a Shocker roster rich with Texans. Senior starters Jessica Diamond and Chynna Turner both hail from Houston while junior Michelle Price starred at Kingwood.

Wichita State will be looking for the first win by a Missouri Valley Conference team in the NCAA Tournament since Drake made a Sweet 16 run as an at-large No. 7 seed in 2002. That was the last time the Valley had an at-large bid and have not had a team seeded lower than 12 since that year.

Senior Jessica Diamond leads the Shockers in scoring at 12.0 ppg and is a two-time All-MVC first-teamer. Sophomore Alex Harden joined her on the first team this year while garnering the league's Defensive Player of the Year award. She followed with MVC Tournament MVP honors after scoring 20.7 ppg in St. Charles over the weekend.

The Shockers are led by fifth-year head coach Jody Adams, who has directed the program to its best 2-, 3-, and 4-year win totals in addition to the school record of 24 wins this season. The former national champion point guard at Tennessee is making her second appearance in the NCAA Tournament as a head coach. She took Murray State to the tournament in her only season there in 2007-08.
