Thunder's Teddy Bear Toss Set For Saturday vs Tulsa

The Wichita Thunder are proud to be an integral part of the community and will give back in a big way this evening with their annual Teddy Bear Toss as the Thunder host Tulsa. Last year, the Thunder collected over 1,600 bears and hope to break that record this season.

Fans are encouraged to bring a new teddy bear or stuffed animal to the game that they can throw on the ice after the Thunder's first goal. All the items that are collected will be donated to local charities and delivered by Thunder players to children who are less fortunate for the holiday season. The Thunder recently participated in The Salvation Army's holiday donation fundraising program, which help people in the community through the broadest array of social services that range from providing food for the hungry, relief for disaster victims, assistance for the disabled and more.

Tonight's meeting with the Oilers marks the 229th all-time meeting between the two longtime rivals. Wichita leads the season-series 2-1-0 and has won the last two meetings. The first five meetings against Tulsa will take place in Wichita. The Thunder's first trip to Tulsa is not until January 19th and January 20th. Matt Summers leads the way for Wichita against the Oilers, recording three goals and six assists. Wichita has outscored the Oilers 17-8 in their three meetings this season.

Wichita will travel to Fort Worth to take on the Brahmas on Sunday afternoon. The Thunder's next home game is Friday, December 21st against the Fort Worth Brahmas. For tickets, call 755-SEAT, visit the INTRUST Bank Arena box office or online at www.selectaseat.com.
