The New York Mets have put starting pitcher Mike Pelfrey and left fielder Jason Bay on the 15-day disabled list.

The Mets made the moves before Tuesday night's game against
Miami.

Pelfrey, from Wichita, is sidelined with inflammation in his right elbow. But Mets general manager Sandy Alderson says the team hasn't ruled out a torn ligament, and says Pelfrey will get a second opinion.

Bay broke a rib on his left side trying for a diving catch
during Monday night's doubleheader sweep by San Francisco. The Mets say an MRI exam showed a nondisplaced fracture.

Infielder Zach Lutz and left-handed pitcher Robert Carson were
recalled from Triple-A Buffalo.
