Russ SMith goes to the line again, after being fouled by Ron Baker. Makes the first. Makes 2nd.

Carl Hall earns 2 points based on a goaltending call, after WSU's offensive play had broken down. Big break for the Shockers.

Hancock is fouled and is he makes both free throws, the lead will be 4. Possibly insurmountable with 8 seecnds left.

Makes the first. MISSES THE 2ND.

But on the rebound, the refs call a JUMP BALL... Louisville retains possession, and Russ Smith goes to the line.

Makes his first. Misses the second, and Ron Baker misses the final three, down by 4.

LOUISVILLE WINS 72-68.

Shox are called for a foul on Russ Smith and makes 1 of 2.

Cleanthony Early comes up huge with another tip in off a miss. Early has 24 points.

WSU calls a :60 timeout.

Chane Behanen scored on off an offensive rebound.

Fred VanVleet is blocked and WSU turns it over on a shot clock violation. Hancock fires a 3 pointer to give Louisville its biggest lead of the game at 5.

Marshall calls timeout.

Louisville fans at their loudest. Cleanthony Early tips a loose ball in off a 3 point miss to cut the deficit to 3.

Hancock comes back with another lay up. He has played as advertised.

Early takes a pass from Malcolm Armstead and scores 2.

WSU calls timeout.

Fred VanVleet finds Carl Hall in the paint for a big 2 points and we're tied again.

Rick Pitino calls timeout.

60-60 TIE at 3:08 in 2nd.

Siva knocks down 2 free throws and we're tied.

Russ Smith scores off a Shocker turnover and Cleanthony Early misses a 3.

Louisville with possession - and off a missed 3, Ron Baker fights 2 Cardinals for the loose ball. A whistle blows, and officials review the play, likely looking for an elbow.

60-58 Louisville leads, 3:50 in 2nd.

Behanen shoots over Carl Hall and scores.

Shockers turn the ball over on the inbound pass and Hancock makes the 3 pointer.

Cardinals take the lead, their first since 11:12 in first half, when it was 13-10.

Cleanthony Early answers with an and one! A wild shot that rolls in. Makes the free throw.

WSU leads 58-56, 5:40 in 2nd.

Jake White answers 2 Louisville free throws with 2 of his own, and the Shockers remain up 6.

Until Peyton Siva works through the lane and scores on a crafty lay up.

Timeout.

55-51, Shockers lead, 7:37 in 2nd.

After VanVleet makes 2 free throws, Luke Hancock gets a lay up to go. VanVleet is fouled again, and the Shockers, unusually in the bonus already, get more free throws from VanVleet. He makes 1 of 2.

A miss by Louisville, and a miss by Early, Luke Hancock takes another lay up for the Cardinals.

Early misses a jumper and Louisville fans are erupting.

Chane Behanen is fouled and makes the first free throw. Makes the 2nd.

Tekele Cotton hits another huge 3 pointer, a la Ohio State, and the Shockers take a 6 point lead.

53-47, Shockers lead, 8:40 in 2nd.

Russ Smith hits a 3 pointer. Louisville is now 5/18 from 3 point land.

Cleanthony Early is fouled, hits his first and misses the 2nd. It's rebounded and kicked out to Early, who knocks down a 3!

Smith misses another 3 pointer and the Shockers' Ehimen Orukpe is fouled. And he airballed. Nerves.

Louisville answers with a 3 pointer, and Orukpe is fouled on the other end again. WSU leads by 9.

Orukpe at the line, and misses again.

Tim Henderson connects for his second consecutive 3 pointer, and Gregg Marshall calls timeout.

47-41, Shockers lead (11:56 in 2nd)

Hall makes his free throw and Peyton Siva forces a foul on Early. He misses the first and makes the second. Cardinals are now 7-13 from the firee throw line, and WSU is 9-11.

Early makes it 10-12, and 11-13 with 2 free throws.

Teams trade misses but Russ Smith turns it over on the other end. WSU gets out in transition and Malcolm Armsetead dishes to Tekele Cotton for the finish.

WSU leads 43-32, 14:16 in 2nd.

Smith makes the front end but misses the second on his free throws.

Carl Hall fouled and the shot falls! Carl Hall will head to the line, and a timeout is called.

38-31, Shockers lead, 15:46 in 2nd.

Play resuming.

Carl Hall fouled by Gorgui Dieng on a near dunk. Hall heads to the line. Makes the first. Misses the 2nd.

Dieng gets his first points on a tip in try. Louisville and WSU seem to be dead even in the paint, but Louisville does have 3 more rebounds than the Shockers.

Luke Hancock makes a free throw and Ron Baker comes back with a 3 pointer!

After Peyton Siva misses a 3, Russ Smith gets his third foul on a reach against Armstead.

Harrell scores on a put back off a Smith miss, and Tekele Cotton comes back with a floater in the lane. Hancock misses a 3 point try and the Shockers run in transition. Baker is fouled by Siva on the shot and he'll shoot 2.

Tekele Cotton misses a lay up try and Peyton SIva misses the last heave for the Cardinals, an ill fated 3 pointer.

SHOCKERS LEAD 26-25 AT HALFTIME.

WSU is 9/28 from the field, led by Early, who is 3/5 with 9 points.
Louisville is 8/19 from the field, led by Russ Smith, who is 4/7 with 11 points.

Carl Hall gets a huge shot to go down for a 3 point Shocker lead but Luke Hancock baits Ron Baker into fouling him on the shot at the 3 point line. Hancock goes to the line for 3. Makes them all.

After some Carl Hall free throws, Smith drops another 3 pointer on the Shockers to take a 25-24 lead.

Cleanthony Early fouled by Smith and he makes both free throws.

WSU calls timeout after a Louisville miss. They'll have possession.

25-24, Shockers lead, :46 in 1st

After Russ Smith got the 2nd 3 pointer of the game for the Cardinals, Cleanthony Early drops 2 free throws for the Shockers, only to be answered by Smith again with another 3.

Tekele Cotton gets a lay up to go on a tough contested shot, and the Shockers regain the lead.

20-19 Sockers lead, 3:05 in 1st.

Ron Baker drops a 3 point ball and Louisville continues to attack the inside, getting a tip in score from Montrezl Harrell.

Tied at 13's, the teams miss consecutive chances to score and a timeout is called after Louisville is called for a block against Fred VanVleet.

WSU is 3/7 from 3 point land, while Louisvlle is 1/7 from the big stripe.

Game is tied at 13-13, 7:09 in 1st.

The Shockers get out to a 8-0 lead behind 5 points from Cleanthony Early and a 3 pointer by Ron Baker.

Louisville is 0-4 at the FT line, and the Shockers have them 0-3 from the field. WSU turns it over on a botched pass to Malcolm Armstead and Russ Smith scores off of the turnover.

Another miss by the Shox puts the ball in Luke Hancock's hand, and he knocks down the 3.

Another 2 for Louisville, and another turnover by Wichita State, as Fred VanVleet travels under defensive pressure.

Peyton Siva fouled, as WSU picks up team foul number 5. Siva hits 1. Hits 2.

Now a 9-0 run and the Shockers trail 9-8, but Nick Wiggins gets free for an easy lay up to regain the lead.

Gorgui Dieng overpowers the WSU defense down low for a score to put the Cardinals up 11-10.

Louisville leads 11-10, 11:47 in 1st half.
