Wichita States's ball, 69-63 another time out for WSU.

8:20 pm (3:55 in 2nd)

Baker makes 2 free throws for the Shox and thelead is back to 10. LaQuinton Ross hits a 3 for OSU.

Early turns it over and Armstead draws a whistle Ross goes to the line. Hits it. Lead down to 5.

Shannon Scott goes to the line after Early is called for a hold going for a loose ball. He makes both. Lead down to 3.

This is crazy. Shockers need a bucket. And there it is! Tekele Cotton knocks downa 3.

But OSU gets a lay up.


65-61 Shockers, 2:07 in 2nd.


8:17 pm (4:24 in 2nd)

Carl Hall didnt catch an inbound pass and it goes out of bounds. Off the turnover, OSU misses a 3 but gets a put back to go. Hall was nowhere to be found under the glass and Marshall wants another timeout.

He talks to Carl in the huddle.

Shockers have made one field goal, a lay up from Fred VanVleet, since the 11 minute mark.

60-52 Shockers, 3:55 in 2nd.


8:10 pm (6:28 in 2nd)

Shocker lead down to 12. They get a big steal as the Buckeyes try to decrease the deficit.

Van Vleet spending a lot of time handling the ball to run the clock down. He misses a 3. Desean Thomas gets an offensive rebound and gets a foul called as well. And one. Misses a free throw.

Gregg Marshall wants a timeout.

60-50 Shockers, 4:24 in 2nd


8:05 pm (7:39 in 2nd)

Tekele Cotton gets to the line. He makes one and Early is back in the game, immediately coming up with a big steal. We can see Shox are using all the time they can. Fred VanVleet is amazing. He gets a crazy and one play and tacks on the free throw. Lead is back to 15.

Cotton bumps Craft on the other end and Craft will shoot more free throws. This will be their 24th attempt. Theyve made 19, after Craft hits both.

Marshall calls timeout when Cleanthony was in trouble against the baseline.

7:57 pm (9:34 in 2nd)

Buckeyes fans are loud. Kind of a last-ditch effort thing, but the lead is down to 15, from 20 earlier. Now down to 13 after 2 more free throws.

WSU lost Cleanthony Early to an ankle injury and it got everyone a bit on edge. But the Shockers are digging in their heels, despite arena being the loudest its been. It is a home game for OSU, seriously.

Armstead misses a long 3 pointer and Buckeyes are going to the line again. Gregg Marshall calls timeout, applauding the Shocker effort.

56-43 Shockers, 7:41 in 2nd half.


7:43 pm (12:59 in 2nd)

Aaron Craft is called for a reach as he goes for the steal on Van Vleet. Whistles sound, and OSU fans sound off with boos. They've been doing that a lot.

Baker is fouled on a 3 point try and he'll shoot 3. Thad Matta didn't even argue it. He knew. OSU fans continue to rain boos, though.

It's now a 20 point lead. Wow.

OSU gets a courtesy call from the refs and LaQuinton Ross will shoot 2. They've only made 2 field goals the whole half.

After both fall, Demetric Williams hits Cleanthony Early cutting to the bucket for 2 and Van Vleet knocks it away from from Craft. OSU will resume possession after the timeout.

7:40 pm (14:57 in 2nd)

Malcolm Armstead drops a 3 pointer. This is now starting to look like an onslaught. An unexpected one from a national perspective.

Buckeyes hit a pair of free throws, and continue to lay that press on tight.

Armstead takes a wild pass from Fred Van Vleet and puts it off the glass for 2.

OSU answers with a lay up after a no call against OSU when Ron Baker took what looked to be a charge.

Van Vleet comes right back and slashes through the defense for another lay up. Shockers scoring at will.

They lead 48-31.

7:32 pm (17:15 in 2nd)

After coming out of the game with an elbow to the face, Hall gets free for an easy lay up. And then he takes ANOTHER charge, but it was called a block. Bad call. No bias. Seriously, bad call.

Buckeyes using a full court press earlier than they would have liked. Shockers advancing ball past half court every time, unfazed. Cleanthony Early scores on a tip in after a Hall offensive board.

Shockers lead 39-25 and Hall goes to the locker room with team doctors. Must be from before...

Armstead scores on a lay up, and Carl returns. Sigh of relief by Shocker Nation.

7:27 pm -

OSU starts with a turnover and WSU starts with a missed lay up on a contested shot by Armstead.

Aaron Craft goes to the glass and is SWATTED by Carl Hall!

Buckeyes keep posession and Carl Hall draws a charge. But he stays down. He and Ron Baker collided hard. Hall holds his head, and is helped to his feet to the applause of Shocker fans.

Gregg Marshall comes all the way to the key and checks on Ron Baker. He is not coming out.

Video replay shows Hall caught a HUGE ELBOW to the face. His glasses may be broken. Team doctors repairing them.

WSU takes possession as action resumes, with no flagrant foul called against OSU. Buckeyes come up with a steal but fail on a 3 point try contested by Baker.

Both teams trade missed 3's and Carl Hall comes back to the court.

6:54 pm (3:00 in 1st)

Ehimen Orukpe put his weight behind that dunk! Grabs an offensive rebound off a Ron Baker missed 3 and just THROWS IT DOWN.

Buckeye fans start chanting, but Malcolm Armstead quiets them by getting his own rebound and hitting a crazy circus turnaround fadeaway shot from 7 feet away. 25-16 WSU. Their biggest lead thus far is 11.

Ron Baker heads to the line. Makes both. Okay, biggest lead is 13.

Desean Thomas hits a jumper for the Buckeyes. He has 9 of their 20 points.

Fred Van Vleet heads to the line after refs call Aaron Craft for a foul. Buckeye fans take exception. But Fred X knocks down both freebies.

Another missed 3 by OSU and Armstead misses a contested lay up and Ron Baker gets a HUGE block on the other end. Cleanthony Early gets fouled as he gets the loose ball and missed the front end of his 1-and-1. OSU possession.

Tekele Cotton got caught playing defense too aggressively, knocks down LaQuinton Ross on his 3 pointer and he will shoot 3 free throws. Makes 2 of 3 and OSU gets called for a foul going for the rebound off the missed try. So WSU gets Cotton to the line with 3 seconds to play.

He makes first one among chorus of boos from 13,000 angry OSU fans but missed the 2nd.

Aaron Craft misses the last second shot and we go to the break.

35-22 Shockers AT HALFTIME


6:45 pm (5:16 in 1st)

Sam Thompson goes 1/2 from the free throw line for the Buckeyes. Armstead misses a 3 and OSU goes over the back on an attempted offensive rebound.

OSU is now 6 of 26 from the field (23%) and WSU is 9/23 including 5/10 from 3.

Shockers lead 25-16, and look for more. Ron Baker beat his man slashing to the glass and gets fouled on the floor.

Hall misses a fadeaway jumper. Rare to see him take that shot. He says, "My fault," while walking toward bench during media timeout.

6:40 pm (7:40 in 1st)

Malcolm Armstead and Tekele Cotton combine for 5 points on an Armstead jumper and Cotton baseline 3. Want more? How about a Demetric Williams 3 on top? QUICK 8-0 run.

25-15 Shockers, 6:25 in 1st


6:29 PM (11:59 in 1st)

Buckeyes go on a 4-0 run until Carl Hall stops it with a nice lay up. He has 4 points. Cleanthony Early leads with 8.

Armstead too strong on a 3 point try but Shox get another stop on defense.

Hall gets blocked amidst the huge front court of Ohio State, and the Shocker defense holds strong again. Ohio State shooting just 5 of 18 (27%) and 2 for 7 from 3.

Hall gets fouled and heads to the line. Hits first. Hits 2nd. Shox lead 17-13.

Chadrack Lufile subs in for Hall.

Desean Thomas bulls through the Shockers down low for his 5th point of the game. Gives Ohio State a 2 point deficit.

Lufile tried to post up down low, made a strong step but got locked up and Ohio State forced a jump ball.

17-15 Shockers, 7:52 in 1st.


An and-one lay up by Ohio State is answered with back to back 3 pointers from Cleanthony Early and Malcolm Armstead. Something special about this team... Despite being outnumbered at least 20 to 1, Shocker fans are VERY LOUD. Great to see/hear.

Shockers get out to a 4-0 lead with a Carl Hall reverse lay up. Beautiful thing. Ohio State comes back with a 3 ball and Cleanthony Early answers with a 3 for the Shox.
