Goodrich finished with a career-best 31 points, while Davis tossed in 23 to account for 65 percent of Kansas’ scoring total. The loss dropped KU to 16-9 on the season and 7-7 in Big 12 play. Texas shot 64.6 percent from the field and improved to 10-15 and 3-11, respectively. The Longhorns’ 93 points marked the most ever against Kansas in Big 12 play.

“We dug ourselves in such a hole in the first half, (Texas) had easy shots, which was inexcusable, and they had us on our heels,” head coach Bonnie Henrickson said. “We didn’t play well defensively and didn’t show any pop, which is really disappointing. In this league you have to be ready to play.”

KU scored the first four points of the second half, but Texas regained control with a 7-0 run to force to call a timeout with 17:11 left in the game, down, 54-39. The run culminated at 14-2, as Texas up its lead to 61-41 at the 13:52 mark. It looked as if Kansas would mount another comeback on the road with three treys from Asia Boyd, but despite cutting the lead down to five points, 88-83. However, Texas finished the game on a 5-0 run for the final margin.

Once again the Jayhawks found themselves in an early hole on the road. Texas sank each of its first 10 field goal attempts and built a 20-10 lead with 13:26 left in the first half. The Longhorns built the lead to 35-21 with 6:47 on the clock, as Nneka Enemkpali accounted for 11 of Texas’ last 19 points.

Kansas put together a 7-0 spurt, including five points from Goodrich, to cut into the deficit, 35-28, with 5:05 remaining. Texas and Chassidy Fussell continued the torrid shooting and stretched the advantage back to 47-35 at the half, while shooting 76 percent from the floor (19-for-25) as Fussell scored 10 of UT’s final 12 points in the half. Goodrich finished the first half with 15 points for Kansas, thanks to a 3-for-4 effort from three, while Davis added 10. Fussell had 16 points at the half to lead Texas and Enemkpali chipped in 11.

Texas finished the game with five players in double-digit scoring led by Fussell’s 26 points.
