In five weeks, Bishop Carroll hasn't played a football game decided by any less than four touchdowns and our Athlete of the Week has been a huge reason why.

There's a lot to cheer about at Bishop Carroll. No team in the state has been more dominant in an early run at the championship. Quarterback Zeke Palmer has led the way.

"That's what we want and that's the sole goal on everyone's mind is team first and individual stuff later," Palmer said. "That's what everyone's focused on: a state championship."

"He's a competitor, he's played for us for three years, makes big play after big play and (he's an) excellent, excellent leader," said head coach Alan Shuckman.

And that's what we hear most about, not the 12 total touchdowns and zero interceptions; not that he's done that in mostly one half of each game. The Eagles have been so far ahead that he takes the third and fourth quarter off.

We hear about leadership, especially on game day, whether it's in team prayers, whether its on the field or off.

With a 4.15 GPA, Palmer's gotten recruiting interest from Kansas, K-State, Air Force, even Yale. He credits his parents for the school work and hits team's success to the Eagles of the past.

After all, wins are not like Zeke Palmer on a bicycle. They don't come naturally.
