Prairie Dunes will be the host course for the 2014 NCAA Men's Division I Golf Championship with Wichita State serving as the host institution, it was announced today by the NCAA Golf Committee.

"Wichita State is honored to host the 2014 NCAA Division I Men's Golf Championships at Prairie Dunes," said Wichita State Director of Athletics Eric Sexton. "We look forward to again working with the staff at Prairie Dunes and the City of Hutchinson to help provide the student-athletes, coaches, families and fans a great and memorable experience."

The tournament format includes 30 teams and six individuals who will compete over 54 holes. An individual champion will then be crowned before the top eight teams advance to match play.

Prairie Dunes, located five miles northeast of Hutchinson is a links style course. It most recently played host to the 2006 U.S. Senior Open, and in 2009 was ranked No. 25 in the Top 100 Courses in the World by Golf Magazine.

"We're thrilled to hear that the NCAA has chosen Hutchinson to host their 2014 Men's Division I Golf Championship!" said LeAnn Cox, Director of the Greater Hutchinson Convention/Visitor's Bureau. "We're extremely confident that our community, as well as Prairie Dunes Country Club, will provide an ideal location for this prestigious event."

The championship dates are tentatively May 27-June 1, 2014, but are subject to change due to television.

This spring, the Atlanta Athletic Club is host for the 2013 NCAA Men's Division I Golf Championship with Georgia Tech as the host institution.
