Declining enrollment will have Wichita Heights sports teams dropping to Class 5A, beginning this winter.

The Kansas State High School Activities Association released classifications for high schools today.

Heights will move to 5A, beginning with winter sports. Defending 3A boys basketball champion Scott City moves to Class 4A.

For the 2014 football season Wichita West and Maize will move from Class 5A to Class 6A. Andover Central and Hays drop to Class 4A.
Cheney, Hesston and Collegiate move from 4A to 3A.
