KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Cleveland's game at Kansas City has been suspended due to rain with the Indians leading 4-2 heading into the bottom of the 10th inning.

The game will resume on Sept. 22 in Cleveland before the start of a three-game series between the AL Central rivals.

The game was moved to Sunday night for national television, and was a battle for first place in the Central Division. The Royals entered the contest one-half game ahead of Cleveland, after the visitors took the first two games of the series.

The Royals begin a home series against Texas Monday night. Cleveland had to fly home for a Labor Day afternoon contest against Detroit.
