The third-ranked Butler Grizzlies moved to 6-0 on the season with a 49-6 win over Air Force Prep Saturday at BG Products Veterans Sports Complex.
Dreamius Smith ran for three touchdowns and quarterback Billy Cosh connected with Javess Blue for 34 and 27-yard touchdown passes, elevating the Grizzlies point total thru 6 games to 354, or 59 points per game.
After Smith put the Grizzlies on the board with a 9 yard run in the first quarter, they scored three touchdowns in the second, enterig the half up 28-0.
Smith reached paydirt for the third time in the third quarter, five minutes prior to Derrick Allen adding Butler's fifth and final rushing score. Terrance Allen also ran one in just before halftime.
The Butler defense gave up its only points in the final minutes of the game with starters out of the ball game. Air Force Prep was forced to punt a total of ten times for the game, turning the ball over on two fumbles and two interceptions.
Cosh finished 21 of 33 for 295 yards and the two touchdowns to Blue.
The Grizzlies will take their undefeated record into a home matchup with Garden City on October 6th.
