Bishop Carroll Caps Undefeated Season With State Crown

EMPORIA, Kan. (AP) -- Quarterback Zeke Palmer rushed for 145 yards and four other players had two touchdowns each as Bishop Carroll trounced Bishop Miege 60-21 in Kansas' Class 5A state championship game Saturday.

The Golden Eagles (13-0) led 40-7 at halftime, with Miege's only touchdown coming off a fumble recovery. The Carroll players that scored two touchdowns each were Jalen Hernandez, Michael Leonard, Tory Smith and Denzel Goolsby. Bryce Harvey also caught a 38-yard touchdown pass from Palmer to score for Carroll.

Montell Cozart led Miege (7-6) in rushing with 67 of his team's 125 yards. Carroll ended the game with 304 yards rushing.
