KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) -- The Kansas City Royals claimed first
baseman Wes Bankston off waivers from Tampa Bay today.
The Royals also moved left-handed pitcher Odalis Perez to the
60-day disabled list.
Perez was moved from the 15-day disabled list to make room on
the 40-man roster for Bankston, who spent the entire season with
Triple-A Durham in the Devil Rays organization.
Bankston was the Devil Rays' fourth-round selection in the 2002
draft out of Plano East High in Plano, Texas.
