A-Rod blasts down Royals

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) -- Alex Rodriguez hit his 50th and 51st
home runs as the Yankees easily beat the Royals tonight, 11-to-5.
A-Rod homered in consecutive at-bats against rookie Brian
Bannister to set a single-season record for a third baseman.
Andy Pettitte pitched into the seventh and Johnny Damon and
Wilson Betemit also homered for New York.
The Yankees have dominated the Royals, going 8-and-1 this year
and 18-and-3 since 2005.
Emil Brown had a two-run double and Billy Butler doubled twice
for the Royals.
Kansas City has now lost four straight.
Bannister surrendered three homers after giving up only one in
his previous eight starts.
