KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) -- Zack Greinke (GRAYN'-kee) and five
Kansas City relievers combined on a six-hitter and the Royals edged
the Cleveland Indians 2-1.
Greinke held the Indians to one hit in three innings.
Left-hander John Bale replaced Greinke and allowed two singles and
struck out five in three innings to pick up his first major league
victory since 2003. He's 1-and-1.
C.C. Sabathia was the tough-luck loser despite a complete-game
five-hitter. Sabathia is 14-and-7. He's won only once in his last
seven starts despite a 2.13 earned run average. The Indians have
scored a total of 18 runs in those seven Sabathia starts.
