NORMAN, Okla. (AP) -- Oklahoma has a starting quarterback.
Coach Bob Stoops today said redshirt freshman Sam Bradford has
won a three-way competition to be the Sooners starter.
Bradford emerged as the clear winner Saturday when he completed
12 of 17 passes for 130 yards and four touchdowns in a scrimmage.
He beats out junior Joey Halzle and freshman Keith Nichol.
Stoops says in a statement that Bradford earned the position but
coaches expects both Halzle and Nichol to continue working hard and
competing for playing time.
Stoops says the decision was made Sunday and Bradford was the
Sooners' first-team quarterback during practice yesterday.
He's expected to meet with reporters after practice this
