Battle for QB Begins in Chiefs Camp

If Damon Huard's luck holds true, the NFL's next great quarterback is sure to be Brodie Croyle.

Standing in the shadow of giants seems to be the hand that fate has dealt this compliant backup.

Huard's philosophy is simple, however. He says "You just go play the game and go compete, work hard and let the chips fall where they may."

But this year could be different. Huard is in Kansas City's camp
competing head-to-head with second-year man Brodie Croyle for the
number one job.

It's a change for Huard. He's played behind Dan Marino in Miami, Tom Brady in New England and Trent Green in Kansas City. But he says he has no regrets, noting that he has ten years on the 24-year-old Croyle.

And he predicts that both of them will probably have to play at some point this season anyway.
