Polamalu rewarded by the Steelers

LATROBE, Pa. (AP) -- Pittsburgh Steelers star safety Troy
Polamalu (pah-lah-MAH'-loo) has signed a four-year contract
extension. It makes him the team's highest-paid player and one of
the N-F-L's top-paid defensive backs.
Polamalu was a first-team All-Pro player when the Steelers won
the Super Bowl during the 2005 season and was a second team All-Pro
in 2004. He made the Pro Bowl the last three seasons and is widely
regarded as one of the league's top defensive players. He has ten
sacks and ten interceptions during his four years as a pro
following a standout college career at Southern California.
