DETROIT (AP) -- Billy Butler had four hits and four R-B-Is
leading the Kansas City Royals past the Detroit Tigers 10-to-2.
Mark Grudzielanek (grud-zuh-LAN'-ek) also had four hits for
Kansas City. He had three against Kenny Rogers to raise his career
batting average against the left-hander to .643. The Royals are
23-and-18 since June first after posting 22 straight losing months.
Gil Meche (mehsh) is 7-and-6. He's 4-and-0 in his last seven
starts, giving up two runs and five hits in seven innings.
Rogers had his second poor start in a row after returning from
injury with three straight wins. He's 3-and-2. He allowed six runs
and nine hits in six and a-third innings. He's 0-and-2 since the
All-Star break.
