DETROIT (AP) -- The Detroit Tigers have traded right-handed
pitcher Roman Colon (roh-MAHN' kuh-LOHN') to the Kansas City Royals
for a player to be named later.
Colon was recently charged in a locker-room scuffle with a
Triple-A teammate.
Colon has spent the entire season on the disabled list,
recovering from off-season neck surgery. He will continue his
rehabilitation assignment at Double-A Wichita in the Royals
organization.
The player Detroit will receive is expected to be named by
October 15th.
Colon was fighting with a teammate last month before a game at
Triple-A Toledo when pitcher Jason Karnuth tried to break it up.
Colon hit Karnuth, breaking several bones in his face.
Colon was charged with felonious assault, and the Tigers
suspended him for seven days.
