In the towns of Andale and Colwich, it's obvious no one is ready to see Lance Reid leave. Teachers and parents are upset over a decision to transfer the teacher who’s been working for a single school for 26 years. Reid’s worked at Andale High as a teacher and cross-country coach. The district is blaming the move on budget cuts, but some say that’s no excuse.

A large group of Andale parents and students are fired up after learning that their long-time coach and teacher is leaving. They say they're going to do just about anything to keep him there.

"Well, it's very gratifying. It's been a positive thing. Out of this whole situation, students, parents, and community members have all been very supportive of me," says Reid. "In dollars and cents, it could save the district some money. They said that's why they're doing it, is to save money."

During the last week of school, Reid was told that to save the district close to $40,000, he's being moved to Garden Plain. He says he understands and will do what he's told. But some community members say they're not going to stand for it.

One kid says everyone loves him.

A group of protestors have asked for the resignation of the superintendent and principal over this matter.
