NEW YORK (AP) -- Saying he was beginning to take his job for
granted, Dan Patrick has announced he's leaving E-S-P-N after 18
years.
The former SportsCenter anchor announced his decision on his
radio show today insisting there is no acrimony. Patrick says his
final show will be August 17th.
He says E-S-P-N executives tried to talk him out of his
decision. He originally planned to make the announcement last week,
but they asked him to reconsider.
Patrick was a SportsCenter anchor from 1989 to 2006. He's hosted
"The Dan Patrick Show" on E-S-P-N Radio since 1999.
