Dodge City High School's football coach has resigned over allegations he violated a rule enforced by the state high school activities association.
The Dodge City School board met Monday night to discuss the violation, and later accepted Justin Burke's resignation. The district would not release details of the violation, however, Burke acknowledged in a statement the violation centered around an illegal practice.
Burke has spent the past five years as Dodge City's head football and track coach. Last year the Red Demons enjoyed their most successful football season since 1994.
