KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) -- Mark Grudzielanek's (grud-zuh-LAN'-ekz)
R-B-I single off Shawn Camp with two out in the ninth inning lifted
Kansas City to an 8-to-7 win over Tampa Bay.
With two out in the top of the ninth and the Royals leading 7-6
following a three-run rally in the eighth, Carl Crawford reached on
an interference call against catcher John Buck.
Crawford, one of the league's fastest runners, then came all the
way around to score the tying run when Brendan Harris singled and
the ball was misplayed by right fielder Mark Teahen.
Billy Butler's R-B-I single had capped the Royals' improbable
three-run outburst in the eighth as the Tampa Bay bullpen walked
five straight batters.
