Kansas City Royals pitcher Gil Meche
was selected to his first All-Star team yesterday.
Supporters, including Manager Buddy Bell, say Meche's 5-6 record
reflects the poor run support he's received, not his performance on
the mound.
Meche, who joined the Royals during the winter, has a 3.28
ERA.
Before signing with Kansas City, he had spent his entire
six-year career with the Seattle Mariners.
The pitcher says he's not surprised he'll be representing the
Royals in the All-Star game. He feels he's done a pretty good job.
