The Big 12 Conference broke its own single-season
NCAA record for women's basketball attendance during the 2006-07
The Big 12 says nearly one (M) million, 24-thousand fans
attended member home games last season.
It works out to an average of five-thousand, 170 fans per
The previous record of just over one (M) million, 22-thousand
was set during the 2001-02 season.
It's the eighth straight year the Big 12 has led the nation's
Division One conferences in attendance.

-- The Big 12 said 1,023,576 fans attended member home games
last season, an average of 5,170 per contest.
The previous record of 1,002,251 was set during the 2001-02
-- Four Big 12 schools finished in the top eleven nationally in
average home attendance.
Texas Tech was third with an average of 10,668, while Oklahoma
was fourth at 10,437.
Iowa State was seventh at 8,906 and Baylor was 11th at 6,295.
Six other league schools -- all but Missouri and Colorado --
finished in the top 43 nationally in attendance.
-- Oklahoma ranked third for largest increase in average home
attendance, having improved its average by 2,807 fans per game.
It's the second straight season in which Oklahoma has ranked in the
top three nationally in that category.
