Mixing the frozen puck and the cowhide, the Wichita Thunder just might be the ownership group for a new baseball team in Wichita. Friday morning at 10 a.m., a conference will be held for parties interested in bringing a team to Wichita to replace the Wranglers.
Thunder owner Horn Chen has written a letter to the city and will have representatives at the meeting. If the city decides to pursue an American Association team, then the Thunder ownership group would run Wichita’s newest baseball team. The Thunder GM, Chris Preissen, would serve as GM of each team.
Horn Chen already owns one American Association team. Monetary bids are due to the city in mid July.
