City Royals 8-to-3.
Franklin Gutierrez, Jason Michaels and Casey Blake backed his
effort with home runs.
Carmona, who is now 7-and-1, allowed one run and seven hits over

April 13th, when he got beat by the Chicago Cubs in his first
appearance of the season.
Rafael Betancourt pitched a perfect eighth, lowering his E-R-A
to one-point-48, and Tom Mastny gave up a two-run single to Joey
Gathright in the ninth.
Royals starter Odalis Perez gave up three runs and seven hits in
five and a-third innings and drops to 3-and-6.
The American League Central-leading Indians are 21-and-7 at home
this year.
