6-6-07 - Travis Banwart held Arizona to two hits over seven and two-thirds innings as Wichita State beat the Wildcats 3-to-0 in the Wichita Regional championship game.

The Shockers had not won a regional since 1996 and had lost in
four straight regional championship games.

The Shockers will host UC-Irvine in Wichita beginning this Saturday in a best of three finale. The first game begins at 11am on Saturday and will be televised on ESPN2. The second game will be played on Sunday at noon and air on ESPN. If needed, a third game would happen on Monday at 11:30am or 6pm and either be televised on ESPN or ESPN2.

As of late Tuesday, all general admission seats had been sold. More tickets could be offered to the general public, if some season ticket holders pass on their chance at tickets. Those tickets would be sold on Wednesday at 5pm.
