5-4-07 - Wichita State is taking some hits in the wake of Mark Turgeon's departure for Texas A&M last month. Wichita State has given junior guard Sean Ogirri a release to transfer from the school. That word came from Director of Athletics Jim Schaus on Friday.

Ogirri averaged nearly 10 points per game last season. He can
transfer to another Division One school, but would need to sit out
a year before playing his final college season.

Another player, junior forward PJ Couisnard, has declared for the NBA Draft. But he has not hired an agent and can still withdraw his name.

The school will also lose two recruits. Denzel Bowles and Evann Baker, who signed under Turgeon, have been released from their national letters of intent to play basketball for the Shockers.

Wichita State hired Gregg Marshall to replace Turgeon in April.
